Frustrated Total Internal Reflection Spectra of Diazoquinone–Novolac Photoresist Films

چکیده

Radiation-induced effects in thin films of diazoquinone–novolac photoresists on silicon irradiated with high-energy electrons (~5 MeV) were investigated by frustrated total internal reflection (FTIR) IR Fourier spectroscopy. It was found that irradiation at a dose more than 3·1015 cm–2 leads to decrease the integral absorption wave numbers region 3700–400 cm–1. The intensity bands due –O–H– and particularly aliphatic –C–H– bonds is increased most strongly during electron irradiation. At ? = 1·1017 methylene (–CH2–) methyl (–CH3) groups comparable noise level. band ~1600 cm–1, vibrations aromatic ring, does not change radiation doses range 3·1014–1·1017 cm–2. obtained experimental data indicate strong cross-linking polymeric components electrons. radiation-induced changes FTIR spectra depend type photoresist (FP9120 S1813 G2 SP15). relationships optical characteristics are explained terms chemistry resins.

A simple demonstration of frustrated total internal reflection

We describe a quantitative and inexpensive method of demonstrating frustrated total internal reflection based on the attenuation of a laser beam through a wedge-shaped air gap between two glass prisms. An advantage of this method is that the thickness of the air gap can be determined by observing interference effects with only a slight modification of the setup. The experiment avoids the need t...

Time-domain measurements of reflection delay in frustrated total internal reflection.

We present experimental evidence that the contribution of the Goos-Hänchen shift to tunneling delay is suppressed in frustrated total internal reflection. We use a Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer to perform direct time measurements of reflection delays with femtosecond resolution at optical frequencies, and take advantage of a liquid-crystal-filled double-prism structure to dynamically change the...

Total internal reflection fluorescence.

Total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) is an optical effect particularly well-suited to the study of molecular and cellular phenomena at liquid/solid interfaces. Such interfaces are central to a wide range of biochemical and biophysical processes: binding to and triggering of cells by hormones, neurotransmitters, and antigens; blood coagulation at foreign surfaces; electron transport in ...

Polarizing properties of embedded symmetric trilayer stacks under conditions of frustrated total internal reflection.

An all-transparent symmetric trilayer structure, which consists of a high-index center layer coated on both sides by a low-index film and embedded in a high-index prism, can function as an efficient polarizer or polarizing beam splitter under conditions of frustrated total internal reflection over a wide range of incidence angles. For a given set of refractive indices, all possible solutions fo...

Tunable Wide-Angle Tunneling in Graphene-Assisted Frustrated Total Internal Reflection.

Electrically tunable permittivity of graphene provides an excellent tool in photonic device design. Many previous works on graphene-based photonic devices relied on variable absorption in graphene, which is naturally small in the optical region, and resonant structures to enhance it. Here we proposed a novel scheme to control evanescent coupling strength by inserting two graphene layers to a fr...
